Formerly part of the Ann Arbor Railroad known as Tuscola Saginaw Bay Railways,
Great Lakes Central Railroad (GLC) was purchased in March 2006 by Federated Railways,
a wholly owned subsidiary of Federated Capital Corporation. This purchase included
the Owosso, Michigan property which was bought in January of 1998 from the Grand
Trunk Western Railroad.
The 40 acre property inside Owosso city limits contains four
miles of mainline track through Owosso, car and locomotive shop buildings, storage
and work equipment repair facilities, central dispatch and administrative offices.
Great Lakes entral Railroad also owns a Poly Pavilion intermodal facility, which was
completed in 1997 to service the entire plastics industry in the lower peninsula of
Michigan via rail to truck transload capability.
